A little bit about us if you're new here! We are a family run company that specialises in making large light up letters and creating showstopping installations in the south west!

Here are our most frequently asked questions all in one spot! Everything you need to know about hiring our large light up letters, numbers and neons in Gloucestershire.
How do I book your light-up letters?
Booking with Alana’s Love and Penelope’s Parties is simple! Just contact us via our website, or email us at alanas.lightup.love@gmail.com.
Once we confirm availability for your date, we’ll send over our terms and conditions, which include all payment details.

Do I have to pay everything up front?
Not at all. To secure your light-up letter hire, we just need a 50% non-refundable booking fee. The remaining balance isn’t due until one month/week before your event. We'll even send you a reminder, so no need to worry with everything else on your to-do list!
What size are your light-up letters and numbers?
Our light-up letters are 3ft 4in tall and our numbers are 4ft tall.
These sizes are perfect for both:
Large dance floors and venues
Cosy country homes or teepees with lower ceilings
We designed the LED letters slightly smaller than standard, and clients love how versatile and eye-catching they are especially when paired with our taller numbers.

Are the letters PAT tested and insured?
Yes! All our equipment is PAT tested and we are fully insured. Certificates are available upon request and often needed by venues, just ask.
Can the letters be moved during the event?
Yes, as long as the venue allows it and it’s done carefully. Some clients like to use the letters in the ceremony or drinks reception area first, then move them to the dance floor later.
Most venues will move them around for you but if not we can show your planner or coordinator or someone in your party how to safely move them.
Can the light-up letters be used outside?
Absolutely! Outdoor letter hire can look magical! However, there is a reason most companies don't allow this. It depends on the weather. If rain or wind is forecast, please have a backup indoor location ready.

How many letters and numbers do you have?
LOADS! We’ve got over 60 letters and numbers, and we’re always adding more.
If we don’t have what you need, we can custom-make it here in our Gloucestershire workshop!

How are the letters delivered?
We offer:
Full service – we deliver, install, and collect the letters so you can relax. We’ll arrange everything with you or the venue beforehand so it’s all taken care of on the day.
Dry hire – you collect and return the letters yourself for a discounted rate.
Where do you deliver from, and is there a delivery charge?
We’re based in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Free delivery within 20 miles
Delivery up to 60 miles available for a small extra charge
After 25 miles, a minimum delivery charge applies
Get in touch with your venue location and we’ll give you an exact quote.
What happens if I need to cancel?
If you cancel:
The 50% booking fee is non-refundable
If cancellation is within one month of your event, the full amount is non-refundable
We understand life doesn’t always go to plan. If something comes up, please reach out—we always try to work with you for a fair outcome.
How long is the hire period?
Standard hire is up to 24 hours, but if you need the items for longer (e.g. a weekend hire), just let us know, we’re happy to help.
What if the letters get damaged?
We photograph the letters once they’re set up at your venue. We only ask for a damage deposits for marquee weddings. If anything is broken, we’ll:
Send photos
Provide an itemised bill
Request payment within 4 weeks
Do you only do weddings?
Nope! Our light-up letters are perfect for all celebrations:
