The transformation from concept to creation: This is what you get when you book ‘Alanas’s Love’ or ‘Penelope's Parties’

Oh hey guys were back, to share more with you about our small family business hiring out large light up letters and numbers in Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds and beyond! We love creating unforgettable moments. I never tire from seeing clients' faces when they first set eyes on their installation, one that was created just for them. We are definitely in it for the warm fuzzies! For this month's blog we are going to run through what goes into every single booking that we do! Check out more of what we do here.
We all know the internet, socials etc are full of photoshoots and concepts that are unreachable and over the top for most to even consider. Yet, they are stunning and beautiful and exactly what you’ve always imagined for your wedding or event. It's a minefield on what to book and who to book and to know what you are going to end up with (cue brain explosion emoji) As booking a wedding isn't hard enough! Well I hope this blog helps you make the process a little easier!
My head is just absolutely full of ideas, colours and themes. I want to make light up letters, numbers and neon installations! I want your weddings, birthdays and events to stand out from the crowd so you feel special and wow your guests!
So I'm going to show you everything from my initial vision to the absolute vibe of the finished installation!! Whether you book letters to stand proud on their own or a full installation, we don't just pick them off the rack drop em and pick them up again, our all goes into every booking. Let's go through it in more detail so I can really show you what goes down.

Where it all begins… the initial idea or enquiry:
There are 2 ways and idea forms from, my head or from you. Whether you are a client or supplier, if I get an enquiry with an idea my mind instantly goes into overdrive thinking of it and what I can create!!!
I just love it when a client comes to me with a grand idea, my favourite has to be and I quote “Extra with a capital E” then i am here for it. First I do my i've got a booking happy dance and then I get down to business. Confirming colours and ideas, themes. Then I figure out what I have in my own inventory and what I might need to buy or make. I carry a lot of stock already but I love to set it up differently each time where I can so each booking is unique to you!
Sometimes I just have an idea that is itching to get out as well so if it's something that I think my clients will like I will create content to share on my socials so you can see what is available for hire and what we can do!! I get opportunities to do this at photoshoots and open days and now I have my new unit I can bring you so much more!!! So keep an eye out for that!!!
Welcome to the world of my head… the process:
What have i got already, colour tones, are they the right colours, do they go together, am i ordering the right colour, just drapes or tassels too, how much space will i have. Disco balls, candles, florals, rustics, plants, how long will it take me to set up, neon or just letters, no letters and just a neon, what accent colour shall i use. Where will I place everything, where and how will I hang the accessories?
That is just a small snippet of want goes through my mind with every booking (cue brain melt emoji)
But I work through the questions and a plan begins to form!!!

Sometimes I can instantly visualise how an installation will look, and sometimes there is so much whirling round my head that I can't quite think how it's going to look! That's where my very bad scribbles come in handy (cue laughing emoji lol) but they do the trick and help me piece together the perfect installation for your big party, wedding or event!!

The endless searching… it has to be perfect:
If you've been with us for a while following our small family business story, firstly thank you but secondly, you know we make our large light up letters ourselves, this has enabled us to perfect the way they are built and look to bring you what we believe to be the best. So when I'm sourcing the rest of my products to build you a show stopping installation I spend a long time hunting down the perfect products to match the standard of our large light up letters and numbers..

Get ready with me… the prep:
Whether you hire our light up numbers or letters and have them standing proud on their own or as part of a full installation, every booking gets full prep ready. This involves pulling and bulbing the required large light up letters or numbers, cleaning them. Sanding and filling if required, Then the chips and knocks get painted to give a clean finished look.
They then get wired up switched on and tested to make sure they are working correctly and all connections are safe.
Once the letters are ready and it's a full installation I then work through a list of everything that is needed, checking that it is all clean and working and if using florals for example these are redone in the required colours. Florals are definitely one of my favourite ways to elevate a display and add some texture and depth.
My kit bag is then checked and packed for everything that I may need.
It’s time… the installation:
Everything you see from us through ‘Alana’s Love’ and ‘Penelope's Parties’, whether it's from a photoshoot, content I've created for a venue open day or in the unit. There is no embellishment, what you see is what you get, for your event, party or wedding!
Our aim is to create show stoppers that will leave jaws dropping, gasps and stars in eyes!!!!
Here we have the doodle and the finished install. Here the client requested the large light up numbers along with some simple rustic decor.
The first image on the left is a set up i had in my head which resulted in the bookings like the for examples on the right.
The doodle to the content creation to the booking with the extra with a capital E.
Another idea that i just had to get out of my head, on the left, botanicals! Then this influencing the middle image a booking to style a bands showreel and a dino 4th birthday.
And one more because i love this one, on the left is a installation a venue asked me to do for an open day and on the right is a beautiful wedding we then did with a similar set up.
