Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

Booking our light up letters, accessories, neon installations or sky streamers couldn’t be easier, you can contact us through our website or email us at alanas.lightup.love@gmail.com. We’ll check if your celebration date is available and pop you a quote over. We’ll then send you an email with our terms and conditions, which also have our payment details included.

You also find us on instagram, tiktok, pinterest and facebook for heaps of inspiration, but the fastest way to get in touch is through the website or email and please give us as much information as you can!

 

Do I have to pay for the hire all in one go?

Only if you want to, we appreciate the costs of planning a wedding as we’ve been there ourselves, so all we need is a non-refundable 50% booking fee to secure the date of your event. We don’t need the rest until one month prior to the day for weddings or one week for events, and we’ll send you a reminder email, so you don’t have to worry about trying to remember, you’ll have enough on your plate.

How big are our letters and numbers?

Our large light up letters stand at 3ft 4“ high and our light up numbers are 4ft high. They are the perfect size to dazzle you guests on the dance floor in a large room or to nestle in smaller spots in beautiful country Cotswold home wedding venues, or the sloping roofs of tee-pee’s, and they make fantastic props to take memorable pictures with. We like to be a little different so made our letters slightly smaller which has in turn been amazing and so glad we did this and get commented on it all the time. The numbers are taller as they tend to stand in 1’s or 2’s so this would have a greater impact. Also if you have our numbers and letters together then they look fantastic because of their sizes! How do the accessories work?

If your looking the really have your wedding decor stand out from the crowd and, we love seeing jaws drop, then adding accessories is a great way to do this. We have a whole host available from backdrops, neons to floral, rustics and disco balls. Just let us know when you enquire what your interested in and we can create a full wedding installation for you.

Are you insured and PAT tested?

Yes, we are fully insured and PAT tested, our certificates are available on request.

Can I move the letters around the venue?

Yes! The letters can easily be moved around your wedding venue providing the staff are happy to do this or we are close enough to pop in and do this for you. Some clients, especially at weddings, like to have them in the reception or drinks room and then move them on the dance floor in the evening.

Please make sure you check with your venue first though as some wont do this. If they dont you can designate someone in your wedding party to move them. Upon set up I can show some one the ins & out about safely moving them and setting them up again!

Also bear in mind if you have a full installation then this can't be moved, so either find a location you are happy to have it for the entirety of the event or have an installation and maybe another set of letters in a different location.

Can they go outside?

Yes! They can go outside, it's actually my fav when they are outside. However this is all weather dependent, if there is any wind or rain forecast for the day then you should always have a backup plan in place.

The weather will be assessed on the day and it will be our decision whether they will be left outside. Let us know what your thinking and we can make a plan.

How many letters do you actually have?

ALOT, lol! We have around 60 letters and numbers and its always growing! If we dont have what you need then we can make it for you, here in our work shop in gloucestershire!

How do the light up letters get delivered?

We deliver, install and collect the letters so you don’t have to worry about a thing. We will make all the arrangements with you or the venue before the event so on the day!

We deliver our large light up letters and numbers for free up to 20miles of Stroud, Gloucestershire. But we do deliver up to 60 miles for a small aditional free.

We do offer dry hire too where you can collect and bring them back yourself. We offer this at a discounted price. Just get in touch to find out more.

Where do you deliver, and do you charge?

 

We deliver up to 20 miles free of charge from Stroud, Gloucestershire but we do deliver up to 60 miles for a small additional charge. Once we know where your venue is, we can give you a quote for this. This includes areas like Bristol, Hereford, Somerset, Swindon, Tewksbury, Bath, Cheltenham, Cirencester, just to name a few.

After around 25miles a minimum charge does kick in for the hire cost. But click the link to let us know what you're thinking of hiring and we'll talk you through it!

 

What happens if I cancel my booking?

 

We understand that sometimes things don’t go to plan and you may have to cancel your booking, but your non-refundable booking fee will not be returned to you. If you cancel the booking within one month of the event date, then the whole amount will not be returned to you.

 

We will always work with you though to have an outcome that works for everyone if something doesn’t go to plan and you have to cancel.

How long can I hire the light up letters for?

You can hire the large light up letters and numbers for up to 24 hours, but if you need it for longer just let us know and we can discuss a longer term hire with you.

What happens if the letters/ numbers get damaged?

We photograph all of our installations once it has been set up at every event. We do not require a damage deposit for all bookings*, but in the event of any damages to the letters we will notify you with an itemised bill and request payment within 4 weeks. Images will be sent of any damage.

*We do take damage deposits for marquee bookings of £100.

Do you only do weddings?

No not at all, our letters love to party no matter the event, whether it’s a wedding, anniversary to a birthday party or corporate event, our letters would love to be there.

How do you manage the business and 4 children?!

Ha ha lol by being a logistics queen! The struggle is real but absolutely worth it! We love our little family business and we are very proud of it!

What are ‘Sky Streamers’?

 

Sky streamers are out brand new product launched in summer 2025. Where we are offering either the installation or dry hire of tassel streamers in a colour of your choice and selceted venues within our delivery range!!!
